The Boort Arts and Culture Group Art Exhibition of Colin Waddington
"Moods of the day and Places I have been."
The opening night attracted a good number of people, all dressed up to enjoy the first glimpses of over 35 beautiful landscape paintings. A lot of chatting with a nice glass of wine and nibbles to complete a very enjoyable evening.
The door prize a "postage stamp size" painting of a proud old gum tree was won by Bradley Haw. Quite a few of the paintings are from the Boort area. Especially the paintings from the Bridge at Days created a great interest.
Colin has spent quite a bit of time in Boort over the last few years and has become very fond of the town and it's residents. During Saturday and Sunday Colin gave some demonstrations of painting in both watercolour and oils. He certainly makes it look easy!
Boort will be holding an art exhibition by Colin Waddingham over the weekend 5-7th November, kicking off on Friday night 5th November at 7pm in the Boort Memorial Hall..

ABOUT BOORT
BOORT known as “The Northern Oasis”
Boort appears like a mirage from the surrounding agricultural landscape. The town is a refreshing oasis with green parks and gardens situated near the delightful ‘Little Lake Boort’. Home not only to birds, Boort has opportunities for the photographer or artist to capture our natural wonders, along with the skies full of stars and breathtaking sunrises and sunsets. Boort has interesting and diverse tourist destinations for visitors and locals alike to enjoy. Boort is 250km north from Melbourne, approximately half way between Bendigo and Swan Hill. The town lookout gives a spectacular 360 degrees panorama view of Boort, the lakes and farming area. Community pride is evident as the locals continuously improve facilities, services and surrounds, which makes it a great place to live and visit.
