Loddon Alive Goes Social

Loddon Alive is now a full blown Social Networking site. You can do all sorts of amazing things with our new Social Networking area on the site. If you are familiar with Facebook, then our Social Networking area should be a breeze for you. In fact, you can even sign in to the Community using Facebook Connect and Loddon Alive Community will import all your details from Facebook!

If you don't have a Facebook account, in order to gain access to the Loddon Alive Community, you will need to create an account on Loddon Alive. You must use a legitimate email address when doing so as you will need to confirm this in order to activate your account.

So, what can you do in the Loddon Alive Community with your account?

  • You can upload a Profile Picture so people will recognize you from the Community Home page
  • You can create your own blog
  • You can upload photos and maintain your own albums
  • You can determine who can see your information by setting the various security settings in order to keep your account private, for friends to view or fully public. By default, the security settings are set to public, so keep an eye on this when setting up your account.
  • You can write on your "wall" and other people's walls where you have access to their account areas.
  • You can upload videos that are already posted on Youtube. In order to do so, simply write a wall post and then paste the Youtube URL or address into your wall post. The video will be viewable when you save the post.
  • You can send private messages to other people on the site.

Groups

One other very useful aspect of the Loddon Alive Community is that you can set up Groups.  There are already Groups set up for the major towns that you can join. But you might like to set up a group of your own for your club or organization. You can make the Group either Public or Private. If Public, then anyone can join, but if Private, you as the Group's creator has to approve new members.

We hope that the residents of Loddon will take of this great way to build and connect in your community. If you have any questions regarding the operation of any part of the site, then simply go to Site Info in the top menu and then Support.

    Hi Ric,

Congratulations that Loddon Alive is now a social networking website! For example
one would think that your new, 'Groups' initiative could indeed be of much
benefit for all Loddon folk, and, thanks
for all your fine work in this regard. As you say it's a, 'great way to build and connect in your community.' True!

    Best wishes,
