The Wedderburn Sub Branch of the RSSAILA (now RSL) received its Charter in December 1927. The local Fire Station was its meeting room until circa 1952 when the current premises became available and was financed by an interest free loan of eight hundred pounds by member and farmer Joe Gould.
Anzac Day services were held in the Soldiers Memorial Park conducted by the Clergymen of the local churches.
The first President of the Sub Branch was Dr B. Rosse-Wood who first joined with the Clergy in the Anzac Day service in 1928. A large marquee was erected for the purpose of conducting trading tables, selling home grown vegetables, home made cooking, Devonshire Teas and running a raffle or two. The marquee was lost in a fire that destroyed the weatherboard building that occupied the area we now use for outdoor services.
In 1986 the Wedderburn Sub Branch amalgamated with the Korong Vale Sub Branch of the RSL and is now known as the Wedderburn Korong Vale Sub Branch of the RSL.
